Welcome to Valdi, home of Beautifully Bespoke doors and windows.
We are a family run company whose roots can be traced back to Zygmunt, who left his home in Poland in 1939 at the outbreak of the Second World War. After a 327 day journey across Europe, he arrived in Scotland and joined the British Air Force.
Following the war, Zygmunt returned to his lifelong passion for wood and his profession as a cabinet maker. His exceptional eye for detail, craftsmanship, and pursuit of perfection are values that remain deeply embedded in Valdi today. We are certain he would be proud of the work we produce; just as we are proud of him for his courage, his service, and the principles he passed down through generations.
Valdi remains a family business, and we take great pride in every project we undertake, regardless of size. We believe in taking the time to truly understand our clients’ needs, ensuring each solution is crafted with care and precision. For many years, we have led the way in both quality and innovation, being among the first in the industry to design and produce several elements that are now widely used today.
While timber remains at the heart of what we do, we also offer access to a wide range of aluminium and composite systems. This allows us to provide honest, informed advice and recommend the most suitable products to match your design, performance requirements, and budget.

Our methods and tools may have evolved over time, but our roots remain as strong as ever. Zygmunt believed deeply in craftsmanship, never wasting materials and continually innovating to make his work more contemporary in design while preserving traditional joinery methods and uncompromising quality.
Today, our factory combines this heritage with state of the art CNC machinery and precision moulders, allowing us to work efficiently with minimal waste. Even our sawdust is repurposed to heat the factory. While technology plays an important role, there is no substitute for experience and knowledge, something we hold in abundance.
Valdi is built on family values. Everyone who works with us is considered part of that family. We actively share knowledge and skills across the business to ensure a deep understanding of every aspect of what we do, and this is reflected in the confidence, clarity, and care shown when supporting our clients and answering their questions.
In our early years we specialised in bifold doors and bespoke front doors but soon expanded our core product range to include a full selection of windows and doors including European tilt and turn windows that open inwards, as well as a huge range of aluminium systems and composite products. Our front doors are available in both contemporary and traditional styles, showcased through our Bold as Brass website.
From day one, our approach has been to take the time to truly understand each project and each client. This careful, considered process allows us to create solutions that are not only technically advanced and beautifully designed, but also perfectly suited to the individual property and the people who live or work within it often incorporating details and innovations that can be missed even by the professional eye.
